SELFPORTRAIT

Hi. I present to to you my collection of songs, which I wrote and recorded over the last 3 years. I used Powertracks Pro Audio ver 4.0b as my studio. Most of the guitar parts were recorded with a power pro audio PPA-68 mic, and my amp can, which is what I'm using in that picture. I packed the amp and mic into a suitcase to record the guitars, and added compression and other effects to the wavefile. The guitar I use is a hybrid Ibanes body w/ a Lisensed by Fender Warmouth neck, birdseyemaple. I use .52-.10 bluesteel strings. The bass guitar was played with a pick, and was recorded line in. It was a ibanez bass, pretty standard, w/ med strings .105-. My singing is the weakest part, but it's gotten a lot better since I began recording, lol. And it would not be my album if someone else was singing. . I tried to write all the songs as stand alone peices, I did'nt want to attempt to make a 2112, Close to the edge type of album, but rather more along the lines of a Aqualung, or OperationMindcrime where the songs are loosely connected through the lyrics. The strings and pianio in all the songs are MIDI, and all were written on staff roll, except for "my blues" and "ballad", which is a combination of me playing and staffroll. I was entering the MIDI data with a mouse up untill six (6) months ago when I was offered a keyboard . So I was able to play simple keyboard parts live, which is why I included them in the mix. Initially this was strictly Guitar, Bass, N' Drums, with me singing. The drum parts are al MIDI, as stated earlier, and I have been melding them to the music for the last three years, adjusting the ticks, tightening the snare rolls. I may have went over board, but what I tried to achive was what I would play if I were a drummer. My objective was to create a album that sounded like a band, and I hope that I created that illusion for you.

Thank you for listening, as remember to support your local street artist. The dirtbag sitting with his hand out does not deserve, nor appericiate, any help you give him, and if you watch, you will see the scam him and his buddies are pulling on you. If they have a sign saying they are homeless, they are probably lying.
